Most common complications of CSF shunts aremechanical and infectious. Mechanical complications consist mainly ofshunt blockage. It usually arises in the first year afterplacement and the most common obstruction siteis the ventricular catheter [38,39].
Also, during thegrowth of the child, there is a chance of ventriculoperitonealshunt disruption [14].
